    We use site codes for this and they can be selected when you process the order. But you have to edit the header from the process screen adn do it there. If you don’t do it during the this stage the sites are blocked in the header on the order for some reason. We kind of stumbled on that answer – Quantum wasn’t any help on that.

    We have the EDI/Aeroxchange integration and specifically got it for FedEx and found it doesn’t work for them. The require a warranty statement in a specific field (from what we were told) in AEX and that’s not a field that is mapped to in the Spec2000 language. We’re annoyed by that.

    It doesn’t help that Cole left and he was the one who pretty much built this and understood it the best. We’ve been dealing with Ivan who has tried his best.

    Hope this helps!

    When importing into a lot there’s a box you can check for requiring inspection. It’s under the options menu.

    Jason – do you know how to get the original quantity received for all part numbers received into the lot? Looking to verify what is still outstanding, or what will not be received in. We use the Lot module as a package tracker and load the parts in as they’re received – not ideal sometimes but it’s they way they want to do it right now. Thanks!

    This is Mike’s explanation for my issue:

    “First off, there is some code for the summary section that sets bPrintHeader := False – not sure what this is for, but when you deactivate the summary section, this goes away. Again, I’m sure what this Is intended to do.

    To fix the problem, the footer section is flagged to not print on the last page. From Design tab, Navigate to the footer item (either in Report Tree on upper left, or click any field in the footer in editor window to get there quicker). In the report tree, click the Footer to show it’s properties. In the Layout property, check the PrintOnFirstPage and the PrintOnLastPage boxes. Then deactivate the Summary section and it should work.”

    I think the only way the 8130 is printed from the shipping module is from the invoice print settings.

    We actually print our 8130 from the Sales Order module. We had a custom form done for this.

    Hey Jason,

    This was logged on as sysdba and we’re all in a theme. Is there a way to add a field to that window too?

  • Thank you both! So I was expecting the import to be a right click on the main grid option like the CQ or PO is. Exciting to see there was an import, but it looks like it’s going to still be a bust. We have two entries for most customers/vendors each with a different site but the same vendor #. As this is the case the validation errors out stating multiple companies found. So looks like we’re back to the drawing board. Thanks again!

    Thanks all! So yes – there was coding in the report main section. Looks like it wasn’t working with the hide shading check box – I just removed the whole section. Works great – took a whopping 2 minutes to fix that issue.

    Also – thanks for the watermark info! Works perfectly! Seems a little of a pain to tweak – I can’t get back to it to adjust – have to recreate it each time with a new copy of the form – but regardless easy enough for what I need to do!

    Ian – we’re on the same page – looking to automate ILS entries. Keep us posted on what you find. The vendor quote side I think needs a little tweaking – or at least that’s what my users keep telling me! It’d be great to have a more efficient way to at least load from an ILS run etc – using the built in function just takes way too much time. Even then – getting the info into the vendor quote created from this import can be difficult since notes or other changes are harder to document in the window provided.

    Jason – SM is ok, we’ve still had minimal success with it. Maybe we’re not using it to its full potential. Also I can only push my users so much to use it. They’re stuck with believing ILS is the gold standard.

    Abigail – on the import side – I actually have an access db setup that use to bounce everything against quantum before importing. I use it for quote imports, lot import and PO imports. Keep in mind this is run a handful of times at the most a month. I run the query to see what pns are there, if they’re serialized, etc. Then I take this data to excel and run a lookup against the list they gave me. I take any parts not found and run the part import to get the parts into Quantum (because we want to follow no quotes right? And for lots obviously they have to be in the system to receive). Then I run import into which ever module the list is for. I know there’s a way to have parts auto added during import I just haven’t played with that much and I load more data during the part import process than I think is added when a part is auto created.

    Hey Andre,

    No, it’s not just you – we often have the same response. Maybe not 16 months waiting – but often several months. I think it has to do with the new Scrum method (or whatever it was called) that they use now. If it’s something that is urgent I pretty much call/email every day and have to be the squeaky wheel. In their defence I know , like any company, they only have so many resources to devote to all these issues – but I think there should be more transparency on what’s going on with the issues.

    For years they’ve been telling us that there would be a system that we can log on to in order to view our trackers, etc – never has happened. I think it’s been 3 years now. Every time I ask they say we just need to be set up and they’ll get it done and let me know. I’ve just stopped asking…

    Good luck and maybe some others will chime in with their experiences. Hope all is well up north!

    That’s an interesting idea. We use the twain cameras because they allow us to take the picture from within Quantum – no need to drag from a folder, etc. I like keeping everything in Quantum.

    Would be great if CC could add a hardware list of recommended cameras, scanners, etc. Normally they just say twain compliant, etc.

    Thanks Nadim!

    That worked to an extent – it pulled the correct numbers for the salesperson – but it also gave me every salesperson code in the table. In my original I’m trying to only pull companies in a certain class codes which will only give me a few salespeople per query.

    My end result would be 3 columns with the following numbers:

    (for current YTD)

    Column 1 – Salesperson,

    Column 2 – Sum (total_price) for all SOs for companies that have CLC_auto_key =2

    Column 3 – Sum (total_price) of all invoices for companies that have CLC_auto_key =2

    Hi John,

    Your revision did do what I wanted- however what I was trying to accomplish with this script did not work. I need a way to have it so when someone creates a new part they can add a group code. After this I need the field to be read only aside from people in list I had. At one time I thought we had this setup but I guess I was wrong.

    Do you think I could put an initial statement here that says if the PNG_AUTO_KEY = x value then allow read only and if not run the script only allowing X people to be able to use it?

    Hello all – sorry to dig up an old topic.

    I’m trying to restrict the group code field in the Part_Master. Now I know I can do this via field restrictions in security – but it doesn’t do what we need it to do. What I need is the ability to populate the group code field when a part is created but after that it needs to be read only by anyone not in a list. I saw this script here and tried it but I know I’m doing it wrong. I can’t figure out the list portion. Can someone correct my script below please?

    procedure FormShow(Sender: TObject);

    var

    q: TOracleDataset;

    X: string;

    begin

    q := TOracleDataset.Create(nil);

    q.Session := Form.OCSession;

    // Get the current user who is logged in.

    q.Sql.Text:=’select QC_SC_PKG.GET_USER_NAME from dual’;

    q.Open;

    X:= q.FieldByName(‘GET_USER_NAME’).AsString;

    if X <> ‘TONYR’

    OR if X <> ‘BILLG’

    OR if X <> ‘JAMELLEM’

    OR if X <> ‘CHRISD’

    OR if X <> ‘CORYR’

    then

    Form.Dataset.FieldByName(‘PNG_AUTO_KEY’).readonly:= true;

    end;

    Thanks!

    Hi Shauna,

    I asked the same question during the boat cruise and I was told there was no recording this year due to the extreme cost. I was told that the group would have to use an approved group from the hotel and for the multiple sessions/days it would have been well over the $10k mark and didn’t make financial sense now as CC is splitting more of the cost with the Que group.

    I’d also like to see the round table discussion notes put up somewhere too so I can hear what I missed in the other sessions.

    Hey Mark,

    We had an issue with needing a revision/lot fields for POs and ROs and just added two fields to the detail for each order type. These are then added to the corresponding form. We have screen scriptor so this is easier (sort of) to do. I’m sure you could do the same for the part master. There are several UDF fields available it looks. You can then map these to your c of c, or other forms, pretty easily.

    Hope this helps!

It looks like I’ll have do this after hours when I can turn triggers off (which I need to figure out how to do that again) because when I tried the PO module I received the error I could not do that on a closed order. I was able to update the gl and I went through and figured out which tables actually had the data in it ( 10 tables and only 7 of those need to be updated) so we’ll get it knocked out eventually!

    You could add as second page to a Sale Order Acknowledgment and add your Exchange agreement to that and save it as a different name and select that form when you send out and exchange. We have our PO/RO terms and conditions send out like this. I’m not good at setting up two page forms – but it won’t cost a ton to get done.

    Hey Jason,

    We had a similar problem when importing price catalogs. Our dia script updates the list_price field (shows Home LP in the Inventory control screen). This leaves the foreign_list_price at 0 (the one that shows mfg. LP USD) and doesn’t auto populate the SOs. If you try to update the either price in the actual screen – it will automatically populate the other price field which is why we do the dia import.

    Does that make sense/help? This was a long time ago we had this setup – but I’m pretty sure I’m explaining it correctly.
