Pietro, we have been using Phantom PDF for quite some time now – seems to be the workaround and allows us to edit PDF’s as well. Much cheaper than Adobe.

we have had this issue happening for years now, seems to be isolated to users who spend a lot of their day in the SO and CQ modules.
upgraded several times over the years but the issue still persists for a handful of users.
the registry fix rebuilds the toolbars but its just a band aid solution.

Is the server physical or virtual?
we went from P to V and it was an improvement but over time we started having similar issues with our Vmware environment but upgraded the host and it runs nothing else other than database server.
32 GB Ram
8 cores / 16 logical cores
Raid 10, 15K drives
Server 2012
dedicated disks is key.
I know it’s probably not what people want to hear as a solution but we have seen a huge improvement ever since.
if your host is built heavy enough you have scalability for for years.

thanks for the information, this was helpful.

I called to check on this before the Que Group and was told they are waiting on SAP – tracker # is T11775 apparently SAP released the fix and component control are testing now.

we have local installs of quantum where users are local to the database
and remote users use terminal services.
each time the local users try to scan to a stock line, qsysmod crashes the program.
RDP users, however, have no issues and we use RemoteScan for those users – it uses a different twain driver I guess.
the scanners themselves, Fujitsu, are pretty high end and support twain and WIA – CC’s recommendation was to use WIA until the patch is released. So frustrating.
-
John,
what version of quantum are you currently on?

We had some roaming profiles setup for a handful of users initially but found it could be challenging depending on the size of the profile – we had some get pretty large and it often took a while to complete login.

we just started with this as well – I’m not sure if this helps anyone out now, but I was able to connect to our oracle database by following these steps
1 – install the Power BI desktop software
2 – install the gateway software for azure
3 – install the ODAC (oracle) client as shown in their walk through instructions.
4 – copy the tnsnames.ora file to the C:oracleproduct12.1.0client_1NetworkAdmin
5. open power BI desktop and go to the get data / then choose oracle
6. the data source syntax is a bit different but will work if you have it like so: //myoracledatabase/service name (CCTL)
hope that helps

Hello,
I still have this issue happening even after deleting that key in the registry – I also removed the users profile, deleted the SID entries in the registry for that users profile and logged in again – building the profile new again – toolbars, window bars still flakey after this
the only common thread I see here, is that any of the users affected seem to be mobile users – laptops.
I wish there was a solid fix for this as its becoming an annoyance for the few affected.
Thanks
Cory

Thanks Guys, good to know we are not alone and its exactly as you described Henrik, its only certain users.
Makes me a bit nervous when recommendation is to change settings in the registry, especially on a terminal server.

this is great information – we run VMware but have had no issues with virtualization, is there any relation at all to versions above 10.2.23 (which we currently run) as we are thinking about upgrading..

thanks paul – that is what I expected
