Enhancement suggestion: Be able to enter Serial Number, Cert By, Cert Date, Cert Type on the PO. This data could then flow directly to the Receiving Inspection and onto the Stock Line. Less typing and double entry will reduce the time for receiving and errors during receiving.

From the relevant Crystal Report we hit the print icon in the top left. We can the select which printer it should print on. When we select the normal “office printer” which we generally use, we can see that a file (.rpt) is sent to the printer queue, but then it just disappears without being printed.
If we select to print it on the label printer (which we use to print bar code labels, but decided to try just to try) then it actually prints. The format for the label printer is small, so it is not practical to print documents on.
So there is something with the “office printer” not being able to accept the format.

Member03/17/2021 at 12:33 AM in reply to: NOT RECEIVING EMAIL NOTIFICATION FROM EVENTSWe also had significant issues, and I had multiple calls with Tech Support to get it back on track. Each time they insisted that it would now be solved, but the problems continued. In the end it turned out that there was an issue with one of the forms we were running. It would crash in the background causing the whole Event Manager to fail. We had made a change to the report around the same time as we went to V12 so we initially thought it was V12 causing the issues.

Member03/04/2021 at 11:59 PM in reply to: 12.1.6 IMAGING ENCRYPTION EMAIL FROM CLIENTI realize it has been some time since the last post in this thread, but we only just updated to V12 about a month ago. I haven’t been active in the forum, so I did not realize the problem we were about to encounter with images we use in our web based stock search and in other places (lesson learned, I need to be more active in reading this forum:-).
As stated by others, we needed the image API, and on another post in this forum I read that the image API is included at no charge if you have Mobile Imaging (which we have and use extensively). I approached CC and they indeed provided the image API at no cost. We have now implemented it and have our images back in the web based stock search etc.

Mike,
Thank you for the input. We do use the attributes for other things, but I had not considered them for this. Ideally we would like to have something which can be populated during receiving (so that the mod status can be updated during the inbound receiving process) and display on the stock line (so that sales reps and other users can see it easily).
I will explore how we can use the attributes for this purpose.
I was hoping that there would be something more “out of the box” from Quantum, as the mod status has such a large and important impact on the value of parts and hence our part of the industry.

Mike,
Very interesting. We do use Foxit, so that could be the issue.
We just came up with quite a simple solution (even though it took us a long time to get there). We now create a PDF from Crystal and save it to a specific network folder. We then have a setting on that folder to print whatever comes into that folder.
So, we get around having to first create the PDF and then print the PDF. The printing takes care of itself.

We tried, but it does not pause the print job. However, while it was in the queue we managed to hit “properties” which unfortunately only contained the below.
As we can print directly on our Zebra/label printer, I have reached out to them to see if they know about any special setup they have which enables printing on their printers.

John, Thank you for the tip! I will test this today.

Yes, if we create the PDF it can then print. The issues is the same on multiple printers. We do get it to print directly on the label printer.

We have never tried it before – we have always first created the PDF and then printed the PDF. We are trying to skip the step of first creating the PDF in order to print the document.
