Is there a way to import or run a sql to update these SN restrictions? I’m now wanting to address the recent EASA Theft Alerts which came out this year.

Adding to this. Is there a way to also include the Reference Number/Customer RO number in the subject and or email body?

Add an option for a specific default open status for every tasks within work order/shop control. Currently default open status is ‘Pending’ for all tasks. However I’d like the ability to customize my tasks to have specific open statuses. Ie- cleaning status default ‘Clean’ Status- would give better visibility of shop management
-
Dusting this off. We invoice out of Shop Control ( we are an MRO). We do have some CIA customers which may ask for pro-formas. We send over a copy of the WO invoice (not in pro forma) and if they kick back saying they need a pro-forma we input that billing number into our accounting module and print the pro forma invoice from there.
I may be able to answer something else if you need on this -
I tried to run this sql again and am seeing an invalid error code. Is this a current sql?
Appreciate the support

Just a bandaid- but we have posted a $0 invoice which will push WIP to Cogs for this situation.

Dusting off this aging post- I sat in on the Virtual Round Table: Quantum Reporting this past Tuesday Oct 26 2021. One of the topics was looking at Aging Inventory which brought me to quegroup to poke around.
This is a great sql report- we do most of our work on Work Orders. Is there a way to show items received from POs and then issued to work orders via BOM units? And or option to see PO number and PO Supplier?
The aging inventory report out of quantum is worthless on the excel export. Really frustrating how their formatting of all crystal to excel exports are not useable. -
I may be a bit late to this- but if you are ever going to issue that stock to a job- sell it- or need it to show on your inventory valuations your best option is to do a return or $0 out the line item. Add a new purchase stock line item and receive it in.
This is how you can track net costs associated with a WO/SO etc

Member04/30/2021 at 1:24 PM in reply to: WORK ORDER BILLING STATUS — NEED 2 DEFAULTS FOR PARTIAL AND FULL BILLINGVicky- I’m running into this same situation. Did you find a way to handle this?
-
We have quantum program links on individual machines. We also have a terminal portal for employee access where we store our engine manuals. This terminal portal also has the barcode and quantum program available.
We notice a huge difference in speed accessing through our terminal server vs individual machines. Mainly use the terminal access point when working remote/uploading large data in lots or CLP price updates etc)
-
No you can’t bill from a sub/child work order. You could roll it up to the main work order however it gets messy and not user friendly.
We do this as well for our customers. We tear down a unit on WO 100. Bill for the disassembly on WO 100. Then open up completely new WOs for the remaining material. Not ideal- but it’s how we’ve managed.
-
I had thought about a geo code but my team reserving and issuing the material is the same group regardless of the customer. So i only want to hide- or pop up error alert if the customer doesn’t match.

Member08/31/2020 at 1:48 PM in reply to: LOTS OF CLOSED WO WITH .02 IN WIP REMAINING BALANCEFor those errors I’ve simply posted a $0 invoice on the WO. That puts wip to cogs. I also updated my emanager to not send emails for $0 invoices to avoid customer confusion.
-
It would be great if this were easier.
When we do Td’s for customers we use a normal External WO. We have an non quantum program for teardown/ID. We return the main component to the customer via ship manager and within the box we have a spreadsheet/packing slip pulled from our TD/ID program.
-
Darren-
In our history I’ve found it easier to completely split the WOs. It’s easier to quote/easier to track/8130’s etc.
The only time I let my team use sub-wo’s for diff PNs is when we build the charges into the main component/WOs cost.
Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to chat. korlando@bpaero.com

It always does doesn’t it. 🙂
Go back to the main WO- when quoting- ‘add items from wo’. On the ‘Select WO Items to add to the quote’ screen there is a header area checkbox of ‘Sub-Work Orders’ If you click this you can quote all sub WO items on the main WO quote.
As both a customer and vendor I would suggest each quote be specific to one sub-wo to keep it clean. Adding however many amount of quotes to the main WO will make it easier to track. You could invoice them one by one or you could add all approved quotes to one massive invoice (as long as the invoice is opened/not posted). Easier to track if it’s invoiced one by one. Also prob less customization on the forms required.

One point on the sub-wo’s- you can’t quote or invoice against a sub-wo. So if your piece parts need repairs- you have to quote/invoice off of the main WO.
We’ve found this to be a headache for our business and our customer so our process is to receive in the main component. Use a Teardown router- issue a manifest. Quote/Invoice the disassembly fee if any. Then create individual WOs for any or all parts torn down.
We’ve started using ‘Tear Down WO’s’ but these are strictly for items you will be putting in your inventory- not customer owned parts.

Thanks for the input on the above. We’ve been using status updates to give an overview of where things are in the shop. We were guided this by by Q when we first started and this has given us a good overview via search WO Headers by status as opposed to building out a handful of custom reports.
We’re thinking of changing this to something similar to what you refer to. Can you share what your dashboard looks like? I haven’t heard of that but wondering if it could be our way out.
Thanks

I’ve followed up with you Jason but to anyone else reading….your WO billings must be printed prior to posting. There is a setting within the shipping status setup- far left ‘print documents/ wo billings’ Turn this on along with ‘create WO billing/ post WO Billing’.
Your shipping team must have their security settings lifted to allow print post of invoices/billings

We have been for quite some time. Within WO Module- in your Work Order- Global- Print Traveler- in the settings check the box ‘print task instructions images’ at the bottom right. Your destination must be printer- if it is set to preview first it won’t work.
Let me know if this doesn’t work for you

Would anyone have the sql to pull this information?
We need to submit to the CAAC a listing of all PNs we issue CAAC releases for.
I am needing to see
PN, PN Description, WO, CAAC Form Tracking number, date issued
Much appreciated!
-
Mike- it would if my users would add labor times. For this case they are just changing statuses. For example- we skip the labor times on our receiving department. Most of the time is spent before a WO is opened and does not make sense to start/stop times.
I wanted to see if there was a way to see a users footprint in the system. Status changes/POs cut/wos closed/etc. Somewhat like an audit trail function on a stock line.
Thanks for the reply
-
Piggy Backing on this thread……We typically input labor times for everything our employees touch. For certain activities- more admin- we utilize status changes and not labor inputs.
Is there a way I can search by a user name/id everything they have touched in work order module?
Cheers and happy new year all

Thanks Nadim.
Data Services is involved and wants to do a data clean up. Which I’m sure will cost and arm and a leg. Very frustrating as they were the ones who originally told us we should add potential replacement parts to our BOMs with a qty of 0. Now that is turning out to be a HUGE issue.
How do your teams call out for replacement parts on the BOM? We wanted the typical parts required to be visible on the BOM to make it easy for inspectors to change an item from ‘qty 0’ to ‘qty1’. Our intent here was to prevent incorrect PNs from being requested and to cut down the time it takes to search/add a part to the BOM. I’m thinking we’re going to have to completely remove all BOMs from each router we have.
-
Thanks Sally- We’re upgrading to 10.7.97. Will steer clear of 10.8 😉
Nadim- Am I hearing you right- if any of these PNs found on the sql code you gave me are linked to a BOM I will have this issue? If this is the case and I have to remove the PN from the BOM every year I will loose my cool. Is that what your team is doing when updating parts prices? Thanks for the response and info!
-
We’re running 10.4 right now. I am upgrading here soon- just wanted a bandaid fix until then. I was also getting the below errors during a mass data import of the new prices. Some of these PNs are not linked to any work plans/boms. So this is puzzling to me. CC told me they’re not going to look into this and to upgrade

Holly-
Exactly what Nadim said. We have had this come up quite a few times over the years. The best solution is to train your receiving team when this happens to ‘cancel’ the WO and start over. This will ensure there are no questions or weird looks down the lines. I have at one time adjusted the stock lines on my WO. Meaning- I’ve added stock lines to the WO and re-received the new correct qty SLs as they should have been originally. This left additional SL in our system and looked very messy. I would highly suggest canceling the WO and starting from scratch if at all possible.

Thanks for the response. With the complexity of parts out there it seems like this would be very beneficial. I’ve got a few ideas on how to manage this. Have you or any other que groupers found a way to manage this?
We have our default set to OH which can be easily overlooked when so little need to be reconciled another way

This is amazing and it worked like a charm!
Thanks so much for the assist Henrik!

I appreciate the feedback. I’m going to take a look into event manager and see if we can run from there. Paul- we also use the scanner.
You all are great!
-
Thanks Billy. That’s how we currently do it as well. I was just hoping for a more automated way via quantum to do this. Like for instance when there is a ‘stock reservation’ an alert/email goes out to the stock room.
If anyone has any other way they do it than Billy and I….I would love to hear.
Have a great day all

Thanks guys. This definitely worked. I appreciate it!

Thanks All
I figured the safest and quickest thing to do is adjust via photoshop and save the copies as a doc/image to the WO.
This to me doesn’t seem like a crazy request from a customer. I foresee this happening a few times a year for our group.
I wonder why this isn’t an option under:
Look at the reconciled main component- inspect the stock line- do a stock transfer to split the OHed stock line into the quantities that you need- then reprint the 8130’s for the different stock lines.
When I tried this the stock line it was transferred to wasn’t linked to the WO anymore- it was just in Quantum limbo. To fix this before an item is reconciled is to reconcile multiple times based off of the number on the 8130 you need. This creates multiple stock lines which are all linked……This is one of those things which will keep me up at night…….
Thanks again

Member03/18/2015 at 1:54 PM in reply to: INVOICING VIA BILLING GROUPS- FEEDBACK PLEASEBack to billing groups….. Do either of you know if we can apply a billing group to a large amount of parts? For instance- I can have 20-40 PNs which have the same price and work scopes. I would love to not have to do 40 identical billing groups
Thanks!

Member06/09/2014 at 2:48 PM in reply to: ABILITY TO QUOTE BILLING GROUP SUB-WO’S SEPARATELY AND SHOW THEM SEPARATELY ON THE QUOTE DOCUMENT.Ryan-
What did you hear back from Quantum regarding this? Do you know if this would also allow you to send these sub-wo’s through to shipping management? We had stopped using sub-wo’s because it would not only NOT let us quote on them but we could not send to ship- and thus have no tracking records for any sub-wo’s.
I’m interested to see what Quantum came back with.
Thanks,

Thanks for your help here Paul. We ended up having quantum make us a custom form. We have this information being printed in block 12 so it doesn’t change anything about the format for the 8130.

Thanks Paul-
We are using the Packing Slip from the shipping module. This would help a ton.

Thanks for your help here Nick. I keep forgetting to subscribe to forums so I miss replies.
We do have forms designer. I am going to play around within it and see if I can come up with something. I think this is a bit crazy that it isn’t already on a standard form.
Thanks

Member02/17/2014 at 12:25 PM in reply to: ABILITY TO QUOTE BILLING GROUP SUB-WO’S SEPARATELY AND SHOW THEM SEPARATELY ON THE QUOTE DOCUMENT.Ryan- I just found your post here. I just a note in the forum about this exact thing.
The issue you were facing is that you were unable to create quotes/billings under ‘Sub WOs’ correct?
What did your team end up doing?
-
The ghost that keeps coming back!
We are utilizing the sub work order function and it has been great. Our issue now is that if one of those sub work orders require a repair or specialized process we have no way of quoting the custom from the sub work order. We have to do this through the main work order- which can be confusing and pretty messy looking.
Anyone come across this issue?
Thanks,
Kristen Orlando
