You are correct; that’s where I enter the quantities, but we don’t have BOMs for all products.

Thanks for the feedback. We don’t have Event Manager, so maybe we’ll try the Forms Designer solution.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback and guidance.

That’s a lot easier than creating a new part number and then merging the old PN with the new PN, which is what I have been doing all along!

We’ll have a look at that option as well. Thanks!

Thanks David. We’ll give it a try!

Thanks for the information. I tried your suggestions in our training database and it is quite simple to generate multiple certificates. The only down side that I see is that Quantum does not add dash numbers to each certificate (i.e. -1, -2, -3, etc.). TCCA (well, at least my PMI) requires a unique identifier for each Form One, so we’ll have to add the dash numbers in ink. Does anyone have any ideas about how to add dash numbers?

Hi Mike,
David Hope posted this message last month on a related topic. He is talking about deleting tasks, which is pretty much what you are looking for. “As far as cleaning up this work order goes, a user with sufficient permissions can delete the lines in Status History, once empty of Status History, Charges and Measurements (if any were attached) you should be able to delete the task itself.”
I hope this helps!

Member04/09/2020 at 4:26 AM in reply to: WHY DOES APPLYING A TEMPLATE CHANGE THIS W/O STATUS?Hello Everyone,
I learned something from this thread. I thought that once labour or any activity was added to a task that it could not be deleted, which was a pain if the wrong template was applied to a work order. Now I know how to fix that problem!
Thanks

The warning will work if you restrict “Work Order Main Component” in GlobalPart Warnings item master screen. The message in the attached file pops up and then you can’t create a work order.

Hi Gang,
Will the described process work with any version of Quantum? We are at 10.8.22.0.

Thanks Kristen.

I thought that the only solution was mobile technician, which is not practical for our shop. Is there another option?

Member06/21/2019 at 3:56 AM in reply to: ADDING SERIALIZATION AFTER PARTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVEDThanks guys. I played around in our training database before I received your replies. I adjusted the parts out of stock so that there were none in stock and then I was able to activate the serialization flag. I then adjusted the parts back into stock on the same stock lines and added the serial numbers. It appears to have caused no problems. I did have to do an “add stockline ” from the item master screen for one stockline because there were two parts on that line. I made notes in the stockline screen about what I did for clarification purposes.

Hello Nadim,
Thanks for the information, but Mobile Technician is not what I am looking for in regards to going paperless. We are a medium sized repair station with all work performed in one facility. Rather than printing the shop traveler and stamping and dating the various tasks, ideally our technicians would sign off the tasks using secure, digital signatures. Does Component Control have this type of module/capability?

Are you retrieving a large number of work orders or POs or just a specific WO/PO number? If you are trying to retrieve all of them, you could check your fetch size and see if it is set to -1. At -1, Quantum retrieves all records and this can slow down the system.
-
I create a Revision History task for each template. In the Notes section of the task I record the changes that were made and the date they were made. I suppress the printing of the task so that it doesn’t show up on the shop traveler. Attached is a screen capture for a typical revision history.
