We have it working in ours.
using 209.242.148.38
-
Yes, we have it configured that way. However, when they select ‘Global -> status change,’ they see a list of all the statuses. Is there a way for them to view only the statuses they are assigned to?

I got the updated file from CC. See attached.

Hi Guys,
Has someone received a response from Component Control? Or has someone created a crystal report? -
There is column in Purchase Management called qty not linked. It gives you a total of all the qty that are not linked from open POs.
Not sure if that helps.
-
Thanks Abigail. Your solution worked!

testing to see if everyone is alive on the forums.. haven’t seen any activity in over two weeks. I guess Quantum is that perfect.
Thank you for responding Henrik!

Hi Paul,
We would like to track this in the event that if a location was set incorrectly or a status is marked shipped, we need to know who did it so we can find out why it was done.
-
could be that some users had fetch size -1 on a browse window that pulled a large amount of data
-
Thats great, glad to see the dll fixed the issue.
-
Hi Dan,
Is this happening with all users? or a specific user?
-
We are also on 10.4.33, seemed to have fixed some issues coming from 10.4.08 and the RR_LATEST patch involving Receiving Reconciliation and AP and Repair Orders not generating AP entries. Seems to be stable. I am currently testing 10.5.3 have not found any major issues as of yet. Will update if I do.

Try changing the program compatibility settings for the qcsysmod properties to disable the visual effects/display settings
I saw a similar issue when I updated to version 10.. it doesnt play nice with some windows display settings.
-
Had no luck with using ” and no other errors. tried several ways to write it, but they all point to the same error
-
Hi Paul,
I tried the code, still giving me same error 🙁
-
The difference was STR.STM_AUTO_KEY = STM.STM_AUTO_KEY did the trick.
Thanks Paul!
-
Have you tried adding qcsysmod.exe to the DEP list?

We use Quantum’s cloud solution with Amazon as a disaster recovery. It mirrors our database overnight using a secure VPN tunnel, and does a recover script to load the new datafile to the amazon copy of the database. It works great

We previously used Google Apps as our provided, and found same limitations. Because of this, we decided to move onto Office 365.
Perhaps you can try Mapi4Webmail: http://www.joonis.de/en/software/mapi4webmail

Hey guys,
We would like to see it in action. Is there anyone in the Miami area who are using the module? and who also has the shipping module?
-
Thank you Alonda and Paul.
Paul I remember that presentation, one of the reasons I decided to push the bar coding module. Thank you.
-
I use QR codes in our shipping instructions form. Its basically an ASP page that pulls data from quantum and uses the kaywa generator to display the barcode
For a sample of how it looks:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=1965F54BF9FA5DF1!2337&authkey=!AM9xxdDZwlndp8Q
When scanned it will load qc data into an asp page:

Hi Paul,
Perfect, subreports are now linking
Thank you!
-
You’re welcome. hope it helps
-
We do it differently, we set the min qty levels in PN, and run a daily Min Qty report for the Purchase manager.
Take a look at this report i run daily to let me know what is low.
-
Forgot to mention the code I put was for result sets for groups. you can use the other ones posted earlier for detail records.
-
Nick,
to get to the background color, you must go to the Section Expert, (on the toolbar go to Report -> Section Expert) or right click the section label on the left side of your report and choose Section Expert. Then click on the “Color” tab to change background color, click on the small editor button on the right of the color to enter the codes.

Paul,
your “Pro Active” approach is definitely something that would be of great value to the users of this community. I also agree on it being something to be included in the que meeting.
-
Billy:
32 bit systems work fine with it. i had some older Pentium 4 workstations running just fine.
-
We also experienced the same issue, and worked it thoroughly with Tiffany a while back.. we ended up doing it the way Nick is doing it.
-
Thank you for the Tip Henrik
-
Marco and Paul, thank you for your responses. I will try this solution see if it works for us.
-
I also agree with Paul, use an outside tool.. MilletSoftwares’ Datalink along with Visual Cut for emailing/scheduling of the reports

The SOD_Link field is correct. However, you must use an outter join because you can potentially link a quote to multiple sales orders. You could do a count of the unique sod auto key values in the sod_link field for each cq_detail auto key, or cq_header auto key (depending on what level you wan the count on) then calculate your percentage.
Send me an email and I will give you a report I have created for this purpose. It probably isnt exactly what you are looking for, but it calculates conversion percentages in the report footer.
I also have one that has a Quote to Sales Order conversion graph as well. E-mail me if you would like it.

In addition to Crystal Reports, I recommend Klipfolio dashboard (www.klipfolio.com) as an easy way to display reporting using XML/Java
It offers templates to connect to data sources, and the reports look great.

There are a few reasons for this. Frankly, I think they are creating their own monster.
The development team has lost sight of the product functionality. Because of this development is often buggy or incomplete. Then, the support staff that tests the product hasnt got a clue how to test, let a alone how the product functions fully and in a real world invironment. Because of this, they are innondated with calls.
That creates a bottle neck. Then, they are scrambling to fix the problems, which breaks other things and repeats the cycle all over again.
They need to do some serious Lean Six Sigma analysis within their organization and implement some change otherwise they will begin to lose market share as competitors take advantage of the industry goliath that trips over its own feet and no longer works in the best interest of the customer.
It is dissapointing to say the least.
I still feel they should share or post some of the Top Call Generators with notes on how to fix them, to reduce the amount of calls.
Using some of the information stored on their Contact Management, they should be able to filter, and share with users the solutions. The end users can then search for their issues and find results.
One of the purpose of this forum is to share issues users are having, but is only useful as the information we put in.. we could really use CC’s knowledge base to help its users find solutions quickly and not have to wait so long for a response from Component Control.

Paul Stewart wrote:
You can create a customized document out of one of the ones printed from the SO.
That is what we have done. When an exchange agreement is required, the user just prints a customized SO Acknowledgement to send to the customer.
Same thing with the rental agreement.
would be great had we had the form designer module 🙁
Just thought to put it as a suggestion perhaps to include in future versions of Quantum, as this is a form required when doing exchanges. Perhaps give the ability to add clauses for customized agreements.

Ok – now I understand what you are doing. I would assign the value of PN2 to a string variable. Then just do a basic querry like this
select x,y,z from parts_master where pn like stringvar X% I dont think you need to wrap it in parans.
hi paul, tried using stringvar, without parenthesis, still wont work, the value of pn2 is set to string still wont work with the like statement and the % match.. could not find anywhere on the internet on how to go about using like matches

Eric, if you were to write this straight up for Oracle, it would look lik this
select pn, description,Qty_oh,Qty_available,Qty_reserver,notes from parts_master where
pn like ‘pn2%’
I don’t know where you are getting the PN2 from, but I notice you are using the : symbol
which is used to define a pattern match as well. Such as
‘Sherwoord_Forest ‘ Like ‘%wood|_For%’ Escape ‘|’
Not sure if that your intention, but I think your syntax is wrong. I always test my SQL in the interactive SQL took and that usually puts my on the right track. Consider getting the book SQL Instant Reference – it helps a lot.
SELECT “PN”, “DESCRIPTION”, “QTY_OH”, “QTY_AVAILABLE”, “QTY_RESERVED”, “NOTES” FROM “PARTS_MASTER” WHERE (“PN” LIKE :PN2%)
Hi Paul,
PN2 is a form value, the :PN2 is used to indicate its a form value, adding the % next to it was to determine that anything after the form value would show up in the results. Had it been a defined string then yes, i would put ‘stringvalue%’ not sure how else to do it to show up the form value results using like statement.

i use the following select statement to try to pull the partial search results but get an error:ORA-00911: invalid character.
SELECT “PN”, “DESCRIPTION”, “QTY_OH”, “QTY_AVAILABLE”, “QTY_RESERVED”, “NOTES” FROM “PARTS_MASTER” WHERE (“PN” LIKE :PN2%)
PN2 is the text field value i am using from a form. And I’m using the LIKE statement, along with the “%” to pull the characters after the text field PN2 value.
My guess is that oracle doesnt like that I put the symbol % next to a parameter, does anyone know a way I can use the partial results for parameter fields? If i put a value and not a parameter with the “%” it works, but not using parameters.
I posted this on the screen scriptor section, as there is no other section in the forum. But would appreciate if anyone can help out with this.

We are considering upgrading to the Oracle version of Quantum in order to solve some recurring ‘corruption’ issues in the Firebird version.
Does anyone have experience with this upgrade?
Does the Oracle version improve performance?
Any database corruption issues with the Oracle version?
Anybody regret converting to Oracle?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Mark
Hi Mark,
We recently had Oracle implemented without any issues. We are currently testing the sample data and seem to not have any “serious” issues with it, it is much faster and reliable. We will soon undergo the live data migration (takes 8 hours with our current database size) and will let you know how that goes.
I believe it’s worth the investment.
-
We are currently running 11g and its working.
-
That works. Thank you Warren
-
No, we simply assigned the user to the statuses they belong to.
How can we assign a warehouse or a location to a shipping status?
-
We do not use Geo code. We have different statuses for each location and add users to the status where the locations it belongs.
-
Thanks Warren. I’m interested.

We figured it out with CC, we needed to uncheck “use HTML for email bodies” in the user email settings in Quantum.
