Also, since you purchased the module, I would get the complimentary training from CC ( usually 1 hour) and keep pressing for at least instructions for AEX in detail. Squeaky wheel.

We do not have the interface yet. But I can tell you that aero repair is very complex in and of itself.
with each customer you might have a different process. If you haven’t already, you should screen shot each step in Aeroxchange on your end and communicate with both Aeroxchange consultant and customers It department and test to make sure it works.
because in addition to your interface, your customer has software interfaces as well.
-
We have not. You could create a custom crystal report – but from our personal experience that is VERY slow. Because the quote is literally text and is not really linked to the main component per se.
Unfortunately, the note is the most straightforward.
-
If it is a very small amount and you use 4 digit amounts for inventory and 2 digits for customer billings it is usually a rounding issue.
-
what Nadim says is correct. Unfortunately, there is not a way to create an RFQ to a vendor and link multiple work orders from the RFQ.
-
We have this issue also and the only “fix” we know of is to reset them. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason as to why it happens.

Concur with all of the above! I get getting away from it and using something that works, however, we shouldn’t be giving component control a free pass.
We paid good money for these modules and SMA charges per month. Quantum should either bring these modules to work efficiently or provide very discounted rate on a new and improved module to make it work seamlessly!

Member02/21/2019 at 10:15 AM in reply to: CC HAVING 2 BREAKOUT SESSIONS AT AEROEXCHANGE THIS YEARTrust me – I get it!!!! At least it’s a step in the right direction. You bring up an issue that I feel needs to be out in the open and addressed regarding all modules. I am going to start a new thread called constructive gripe – I’m not kidding.

Member02/13/2019 at 8:23 AM in reply to: RETROSPECTIVE SUSPENSE REPORT AND INVENTORY REPORTFor right now, I do not have a fancy customized report to get the information,
Going forward
If you have event manager, set the Inventory and Wip to be sent to you daily. Makes it a lot easier to track down differences.
I did run into an issue a few years back where my inventory listing did not even resemble the amount that was in the General Ledger. It turns out that in an inventory module report I had printed out a custom date range and though it shouldn’t the GL Wip/Inventory were using those custom dates.
Also, first place I always check is to make sure all the G/L periods have the next period entered in the setup.

We are in a cloud environment, so our version of C++ was done once on the virtual server, not the database itself. If the server is at your facility and not cloud then you may or may not need to do each computer. People with more computer admin skills than (just enough to be dangerous) please chime in.
It’s been a while, but I think all of my reports were blowing up. Not 100% though.

T11973 for the issue causing the STD GL Activity Report to incorrectly calculate beginning balance and display incorrect account number information has been completed
I have requested a patch for it.

Left out that you would need to open a work order for the Assembly that requires measurements 🙂
-
A work around could be used by creating a task for measurements and under the instruction tab add the various measurements with line on form that mechanic records it on.
However, it then remains “reference only” on paper. Data can’t be flagged on whether or not it’s out of tolerance.
One option – though may be lengthy up front is. For assembly with measurement assign the BOM part master to a product template revision. If you are able to do that you can setup template and than link the BOM part to your manufacturing order. Then you can record the measurements in the work order and those measurements will be linked to the MO.
I have not fully tested the above, hopefully I will be able to later in the week. It’s the only way I see to do it where your data can be actively used for event manager, etc. Maybe a consultant has done this for someone?

Member11/02/2018 at 8:51 AM in reply to: CLOUD USERS OUT THERE ? USING BARCODE MODULE ON CLOUD?Thanks Pietro!
-
We have 10.10.6 and it wasn’t doing that. The only accounts it does it on is if they truly have a balance going the opposite direction from it’s type.
That being said, we do not have separate departments or consolidated’s.

Member10/26/2018 at 8:14 AM in reply to: CLOUD USERS OUT THERE ? USING BARCODE MODULE ON CLOUD?I am not technical, but take this for what it’s worth. We are in a cloud environment, but have not successfully been able to include the worth bar coding system. I may have IT try again with a VPN tunnel and see what happens.
We have no problems with our BC generic stations on the cloud. IT has it set up to not be up all of the time so I post login procedures if the cloud connection is lost.

Version 10.10.6
It’s not major, but this is a pain from an accounting standpoint when doing reconciliations. When printing G/L activity and using customized dates instead of a period, It does not print the account number – it prints the “type” number.
Tracker # V702983

I would definitely contact accounting at CC. Which version are you on? Jamie will be able to help.
-
We are a cloud environment, it would be in the same directory as your program file for Component Control, not the database.
-
We went with 10.10.6. Make sure the version of Microsoft Visual C++ is version 2015 (I’ll get exact version) when I get in office. Otherwise all you’re reports will blow up!!!!!
Before you get off phone with quantum ask them to stay on line while you log out and then log in quantum this is when SAP said it needed to upgrade/install newer version and could not register
Unfortunately, I had to get after hour tech support on this because upgrade was done at end of day on Friday. But glad Preston was on duty. Even at that it took an hour to find issue.
-
Gary, thanks that is good to know!
-
We also took advantage of Thiago’s generosity and it was a very productive one hour! He is going to work up an sql training session around our needs.
-
I am interested in being able to print a work order quote with more information than the current pipeline allows. Best, most efficient way to pull in data from the work order of which the quote originated.
-
We’re on 10.7.97 and have the same issue, which I pointed out to CC. I agree with Henrik. There should not be extra dollars – it should work! I think it’s definitely worth bringing up at conference or creating a tab on this website similar to a signed petition and after so many responses pointing it out the board could consider printing it out and forwarding it to component control.
-
It doesn’t help with location, but we do the following so the pickticket doesn’t print in random order.
We are on 10.97 and within the Template BOM we have assigned each part the figure no. from the CMM/Drawing, etc. We sort the template BOM by Figure # and save to personal settings. Within the work order we sort by Figure # and save to personal settings.
-
Nadim is correct – I have called Quantum on this and they have confirmed it’s hard coded SQL for default. I suppose if enough of us spoke up they might consider changing that without charging us custom fee.
-
I will just share how we use it. We assign different work order main assembly as contract/non contract (it can get more complex, but we just have 2 items we want to track)
Everyday, in real time, we know how many contract vs non contract jobs in the shop and we know the days remaining on job and by the work order status, know what needs to happen to make sure the job meets it’s delivery date and/or the customer is notified of any delay.
The data can be exported to excel if need be.
-
Under the general ledger drop down. Search GL details, type the work order # in the appropriate field from the Find for GL Details browse that will pop up. It will show all your journal entries that are linked with that work Order. You can then export it.

We use the Zebra Thermal Transfer Industrial S4M. We have gotten refurbished with no trouble. I now have two on the floor with different size labels. In addition, make sure you buy the correct ribbon for transfer and look at Brady labels if you want it to withstand resistance to chemicals, heat, etc. I highly recommend buying the maintenance agreement from a licensed Zebra seller. Well worth it. They are a better price point than brand new – if that is one of your concerns.
-
We are on 10.7.97 and there is no way to do this (confirmed at a round table at Que Group 2 years ago). Basically, you have to manually tally up their time, which is not an efficient manner.
I would recommend writing it up and sending it to Quantum. The more that report it, the better chance we have of them addressing it.
-
In addition, Dragon software also has dragon anywhere for cloud based environments. They offer a week free trial. It’s offered individually and as a work group.

From an accounting standpoint, using SQL instead of running it through the system is not a preferable audit trail of the transaction. In the work order module setup you can allow partial billing. BUT, that’s just the auditor in me 🙂
Here’s another option.
The credit memo can be run through the work order module and hit accounting. From Billing, Credit Memo, Create CM for this billing; Add – flag all items billed; apply, print and post. The billing shows cost, but it doesn’t hit the G/L with it again. It just credits A/R and Debit Sales. There will be a timing difference between cost and sales this method. A manual AJE would be required. Hand off the paperwork to accounting and they can make a manual journal entry to record the cost in the proper period. (don’t make it to the FG, Inv, WIP )
OR if you want no timing difference, issue the CM above. THEN in work order Parts Management, undo stock activity, items that were billed erroneously and apply. Would then have to reserve/issue the parts from the original pick ticket for the work order, so you maintain accuracy for trace-ability, stock count etc.
Could be time consuming, but trail is there.

Thank you Henrik. I have contacted Pietro and get some help when we’re ready to go live with the 10.8.33……

Holly,
Shoot me an email @ stomlinson@taerospace.com. I’m currently working on month end, but I can look at it on Monday. There are so many options in PM. If you can snippet me the detail from the main master parts record you are wanting to show up in purchase management, I can play with it and see what the solution may be.
-
Without knowing more detail, I will answer generally speaking. In PM, make sure that you only have Reorder point checked and nothing else in the needs retrieved. In addition, if you have alternate PN’s assigned and you have some on order, that may also affect the return PM gives you.

Member06/08/2017 at 6:32 AM in reply to: MANAGE A GROUP OF WO IN PURCHASE MANAGEMENTMike,
Under the shop control drop down select shop planning set up a profile and make sure that you check “Include BOM in Purchase Management Forecast.
Look under Members Only/Conferences/2016 and highlight the Advanced Shop Control by me and double click. I believe slide 21 is where I start laying out the complete process for using this.
If you have any additional questions or comment, I will be glad to help. Hopefully this will get you started.

I just emailed them. Let me know if the attachment didn’t come over.

Looking forward to the demonstration!

During Aeroexchange two years ago, I know that Todd Lewis at least met with Aeroexchange during the Aeroexchange conference. It doesn’t appear that it’s on the front burner. I would suggest we bring it up at the conference this year. CC is generally more responsive to requests made there.
-
We do the same as Marty. It provides good trace.

Member02/27/2017 at 10:28 AM in reply to: EVENT MANAGER-SECURITY 10.7.97.0 (ON DB NOT PART OF QUANTUM)Thank you.
-
We have not discovered a way to do this directly, but use a work around. We approve the quote in our system and acknowledge the work order quote through Aeroexchange.
If your customer would like a physical acknowledgement, you can either create a custom crystal or report builder form.
-
which new release are you referring to?
-
Thank you for your input – Do you know of any consultants that are well versed in BOTH Quantum AND Oracle? I am sure, I will need some assistance…..
-
It’s in regards to the bulletin. We are beefing up our security, yet some CC tech’s want to just get directly on the db and do their thing, because antivirus software treats certain CC elements as a threat. We do not allow anything to be done without our Network Provider watching everything that they are doing, but it has created several problems with utilizing the software.
-
We use task because it allows us flexibility both on invoicing and what prints out on our FAA documents. For instance, we don’t want Roloc disks, etc printing out as parts used so we requisition them on a separate task. Allows you to flag only the task items you want to print out.
-
We do the same as Marty and have good results with the task method. It is more flexible than the basic method. We have tweaked/customized our work order invoices and quotes to suit our need through Forms Design.
-
10.7.97 has been a good upgrade for us. I would NOT upgrade to any of the 10.8 because there are a lot of bugs still being worked out – particularly if you use deferred BOM.
Unfortunately, when they won’t patch there generally isn’t a good work around for it.
